Guest lecture of Mr. A.G. Pramanik on “Geophysical Technology Integration in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production: An overview” Highlighted the fast growth of geophysical techniques used in hydrocarbon exploration and production exploration and production in the last few decades. The lecture was highly informative. It kept the audience spellbound and followed by prolific interactions.

Around 250 students and geoscientist attended the event.

PETROTECH-2003 is being organised by ONGC

The 5th International Conference and Exhibition PETROTECH-2003 is being organised by ONGC under aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas during 9 - 12 January 2003 at New Delhi. The theme of Petrotech-2003 is “Global Co-operation for Hydrocarbon Technology”. The conference will take place in Vigyan Bhavan and the Exhibition will be organised at Pragati Maidan.

Merger of RIL & RPL

The board of directors of Reliance Industries and Reliance Petroleum on 10th March 2002 approved merger of the latter with the Relience Industries, creating the country’s largest private sector company.

To be effective from April 1, 2001, the swap ratio between RIL & RPL has beeen fixed at 1:11. That means, RPL shareholders would receive 1 share of Relience for every 11 shares they hold for RPL.

RiL to drill first well in April

Reliance Industries Ltd. is all set to drill its first oil well next month with an expenditure of around $400,000 per day in kgd-6 deep water block in the Krishna-Godavari basin on eastern coast of India.

Bharat Petroleum has made its first crude import independent of IOC when on 5th March it contracted to buy a 70,000 tonne first parcel of Abu Dhabi Murban crude for April delivery.
