Guest lecture of Mr. A.G. Pramanik on “Geophysical Technology Integration in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production: An overview” Highlighted the fast growth of geophysical techniques used in hydrocarbon exploration and production exploration and production in the last few decades. The theme of Petrotech-2003 is “Global Co-operation for Hydrocarbon Technology”. The conference will take place in Vigyan Bhavan and the Exhibition will be organised at Pragati Maidan. News Column Merger of RIL & RPL The board of directors of Reliance Industries and Reliance Petroleum on 10th March 2002 approved merger of the latter with the Relience Industries, creating the country’s largest private sector company. To be effective from April 1, 2001, the swap ratio between RIL & RPL has beeen fixed at 1:11. That means, RPL shareholders would receive 1 share of Relience for every 11 shares they hold for RPL. The merger between RPL & RIL would create the country’s first fully integrated oil & petrochemicals major and a company of global size in the |

Analyst said that merger would help the Reliance group to raise fund abroad for the group’s telecom and power venture.
