Mr.
Oberto Serra has a doctorate degree in Geology with a 43 years experience
in well - logging interpretation. He is the author of various papers and
two books on the subject. He is a member of AAPG, SPWLA and Union Francaise
des Geologues University. He won the “March Roubault” award
from SGF (French Geological Society).
Mr. Lorenzo
Serra has a Master Degree in Physics and has worked successively in Schlumberger
and Clamart SRPC. For the last two and a half years he is working in collaboration
with Mr. Oberto Serra.
Chennai Section organised a lecture on “High Definition 3D” by Mr. Malcolm
Lansley, Vice President, Geophysical Technology for PGS, Onshore
Chennai Section
of SPG, under the leadership of Mr. A. Saha, GM (Geophysics), ONGC, is
actively pursuing the activities beneficial for its members. The Section
has recently organized a lecture on “High Definition 3D” by Mr. Malcolm
Lansley, Vice President, Geophysical Technology for PGS, Onshore. The
Lecture was organised at the Banquet Hall of the Hotel Nitash Chandra
Towers, Chennai. The lecture was very well received, appreciated and actively

(Lucknow University Alumni Association) organized National Seminar on
“Natural Wealth of Uttaranchal” at KDMIPE, ONGC, DEHRADUN

ONGC on “Hydrocarbon Prospectivity of Uttaranchal” which forms
a part of the large Himalayan Foreland basin extending all along the northern
part of Indian Peninsula, concluded that the present understanding of
the area suggests that it still holds promise for hydrocarbons and requires
further exploratory inputs to completly realize the potential of the region. |

Hamrock
society & student Section of SPG at IIT Roorkee organized a three
days student convention “Geo synergy -2002” during 22-24 March.
Mr. A.G. Pramanik, ED-Chief Geophysical Services, ONGC, was the guest
of honour of this event. Enthusiasm of the students to organize such a
major events was overwhelming. Exceptional papers by emimnent geoscientists
and students were the main attraction of this event. Mr. Chandra in his
address emphasized upon the responsibility of the industry to induct latest
software/ hardware and share the data with the universities to develop
more professionalism in the students. |
