: Dr B B Bhattacharya SPG Kolkata organises Lecture.. Kolkata
section of SPG hosted a talk on “Seismic data Acquisition at Offshore
with Special Reference to OBC Technique” by Sh S K Singh, ONGC at
RCC Conference Hall, Kolkata. SPG Delhi Section Workshop.. Delhi section of SPG organised a workshop on Reservoir Geophysics. The event was sponsored by Halliburton (HLS Asia). Sh. S. K. Patra, Director Exploration OIL presided over the function (see pic). Professionals from Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering and Logging benefitted from this presentation which enhanced multidisciplinary awareness.
SPG Student Section Waltair Workshop.. The student section of SPG at Andhra University Waltair organised a half day workshop wherein 12 papers were presented enthusiastically by students covering Ground Water Prospecting, Remote Sensing and GPS Technology etc. This was applauded by all. New SPG Student Section at BHU, Varanasi.. A
new SPG student section was founded at Deptt. of Geophysics, Banaras Hindu
University on 19th Sept. 2002 (see pic.). |

Sh. I A Siddiqi Superannuates Sh I A Siddiqi, GM (Geoph), a senior SPG member and Head GEOPIC, ONGC superannuated on 31st Aug 2002 after a glorious innings of 38 years involving all walks of API. He handed over the reins to Dr. C H Mehta. On the eve of his farewell Sh. Siddiqi put up a visual fare consisting of old photographs and mementos. A sample from the same is put up alongside. Let's see how many of the stalwarts in the photograph you can recognise. (see pic.) Check with description at the end.
APG Convention held at Mussorie.. The first convention of APG India was held successfully at Mussoorie from 28-29 Sept 2002. Geoscientists from across the country attended the programme consisting of technical presentations and training courses. |
